Pilgrim Support Semi Structured Online Counselling

A structured series of up to 5 online preparatory sessions and one online integration session upon return. These are all individual 1:1 sessions, to enhance your readiness for an individual pilgrimage, or to process what happened upon return.

For the individual starting with no preparation knowledge, 5 sessions are likely needed, but I will always point you to free local Camino groups where you can get a good start on bag-packing and other technical information and 5 sessions may then become 3. We will always have an assessment call first to determine your best starting place.

The sessions will cover the day-to-day aspects of life on the Camino, options for getting to the starting gate and various resources you may find beneficial before going and while you are there. We will talk about choices you can make to add (or subtract) structure or spontaneity to your journey. We also talk about preparing yourself for the interior journey. The benefit of these individual sessions delivered by an occupational therapist (who is also a pilgrim), is one on one counselling as part of preparation: reflection on what is bringing you on this path, what do you hope for, what do you fear? How can we collaboratively build your capacity for the inevitable bumps in the road.

And with an integration set up a month after you return, we return to all those reflections and worries with the eyes and ears of a pilgrim and close the circle.
