Occupational Therapy

Optimizing full engagement in one's life in all realms: spiritual, psychological, mental, and physical. Using meaningful occupation as both a goal and a method of treatment, this is a field that is wide, diverse and creative.

Occupational therapists are regulated health care providers and what they do can look quite different depending on the treatment environment. For example, in an acute care or physical rehabilitation setting, what an Occupational Therapist does looks quite different than in a mental health clinic or palliative care—there is a high degree of diversity in the profession. What is true across all settings is that this discipline is a holistic approach to collaboratively encouraging fully engaged, meaningful living at all stages from the very beginning to the very end.
